What sets Zodiac Casino apart from others in a competitive market? And how do you envision your brand evolving over the next few years?
Zodiac Casino has been around since 2002 and is forever evolving. It became part of the Casino Rewards group in 2006, joining many other brands with a joint loyalty program, allowing players to use their accrued loyalty points at any of the group's casino brands. No other group has as many brands connected allowing players to do this, just like an airline frequent flyer program partnership.
What role does player feedback play in shaping Zodiac's offerings?
Every piece of feedback given is read and considered. This is why over the years the sign up bonuses have been unique, from the 1 hour free play to purchasing free spins for $/€1. Obviously we can't action every piece of feedback, but we take it into consideration within reason.
With changing regulations across markets, how do you adapt your strategies to stay compliant and competitive?
As a group with so many brands it's harder than you'd think. There are so many things behind the scenes to consider, especially operating the brand in more than one market. Different websites for different markets. Sometimes different sign up bonuses for different markets. Updating third parties etc. Thankfully we have teams behind the scenes who look after this stuff and are really great at their jobs so it isn't something we really worry about too hard 😊
How do you prioritize player safety and responsible gambling?
We are committed to responsible gambling and take our licenses very seriously. We have many automated as well as manual procedures that run day to day to ensure we are not missing anyone and are upholding our obligations according to our RG licenses.
How do you see emerging trends like live dealer games, mobile-first design, or AI impacting the casino industry?
Live dealer has been around for some time now and the most obvious trend is that there are 2 types of players: those who prefer live dealer and those who don't. You'll get some players who dabble in live games, but they mostly go back to what they like.
Mobile first design has taken over with majority of people using their mobile to play. That was something the entire industry had to adapt to quite quickly and it has had its share of bugs but it seems to be much smoother now. In this day and age it's not surprising though. We have everything on our phones, why not gambling?
Re AI - to be honest I think it's going to hurt some parts and help others but I won't go into that since it goes out into other parts of the business.
What's the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing players win life changing amounts of money and seeing their plans which include selfless actions like paying off their parents house or donations to charity.
Can you share a memorable player story or success related to your casino brand?
We have our Time of Your Life sweepstakes that is drawn every quarter. Recently there was a player who won and was so excited because it was their first time choosing a prize in the draw. Many of these prizes could just as easily be bought in store but it seems more exciting when you win something as opposed to buying it yourself.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in brand management within the gaming sector?
You really need patience for repetition and have thick skin.
What's one thing you think every player should know about the casino industry from the inside?
We truly aren't out to get you and we secretly root for players to win. Casinos that have licenses from a reputable regulator have to stick to the book or risk fines, so you should always research where the casinos are licensed before playing anywhere online.
