The game layout for 5 Wishes will be familiar to all slot players with three rows and five reels with up to 25 win-lines each spin. This is a very high variance game according to the designers which in theory should mean less smaller wins and occasional big wins. However, in our experience playing 5 Wishes we hit a lot of big wins during normal gameplay and it didn't take us long to triple our starting balance. Released the last day in August 2023, Samba Jackpots is a vibrant and exotic 5 reel, 3 row slot with 40 fixed paylines. As we did, SpinLogic fans may at first notice the similarity with 2021's Miami Jackpots, on closer inspection we found resemblance pretty much only in name and presence of the quick hit jackpot ladder, with game play features differing significantly. While Miami Jackpots has a lot going for it with its 80's neon style, Samba has a classier, easier on the eye and higher energy feel.
When it comes to the bonus round free games, Miami Jackpots awards a bonus pick allowing you to choose 20, 15, 12 or 10 free spins with increasing multiplier, whereas Samba Jackpots' free games, triggered by 3 jackpot symbols landing on reels 3, 4 and 5, will award you 10 free spins with the wild reels and jackpot prizes randomly landing more often. Samba Jackpots plays at medium volatility and that is certainly reflected in the overall feel. As we're finding ourselves more often playing high/very high volatility slots, we're getting less enjoyment from the medium and low titles, this is particularly the case with SpinLogic more so than with other game providers as it often feels as though the highs play like mediums and the mediums like lows. Annoyingly, bets start at 00.40 instead of the usual, more budget friendly 00.20/25 and go up to $40 a spin, still, not an unreasonable range. On the 3x3 board there's five fixed paylines, however on any given spin you might only see one line of symbols appear, it's like a random board and we're not quite sure how much we love it. The empty spaces do, in fact serve a purpose as they'll be used for potential 'Transferring Symbols', triggered when you land any two 7s on a line with a empty space. The developers and designers at SpinLogic have done a nice job with the visuals and sound effects of T-Rex Wild Attack, creating a atmospheric experience. As part of the T-Rex series the visual design is simply a modernisation of its predecessors; T-Rex and T-Rex ll which will no doubt please many fans. While the original T-Rex online slot has seen better days with its clunky yet oh so classic RTG sound effects, T-Rex ll feels like it has the visuals and background music 'just right', giving it a more exciting and atmospheric feel for a dinosaur themed slot. As entertaining and visually appealing T-Rex Wild Attack is with its modernised, sleeker design, to us it misses the mark a tad compared to T-Rex ll with its rugged feel and faster paced background music. A nice touch is when T-Rex wilds land they thud into place shaking the screen, we do appreciate this detail although it can become a little frustrating when there's a run of them coming in without making wins (which goes without saying!) as the repetitive thuds make you keep expecting more or at least something each time.
